Bybit Tax Records for Ireland: CSV and API Guide
Export and reconcile supported Bybit spot, derivatives, Earn, Convert, and transfer records for an Irish tax estimate, with API history gaps made explicit.

Important: A successful Bybit import does not prove that the account history is complete. Bybit documents product, date-range, account-type, and verification limits, while its API omits some older, copy-trading, P2P, Launchpool, Launchpad, and other activity.
Choose CSV for the broadest history
Bybit's current self-export guide says Transaction Log and Order History exports are CSV, while Account Statement is PDF. The export is desktop-only, requires account verification, and limits each file to a one-year period.
Irish Investor supports the Bybit CSV families used for legacy and unified spot activity, Fund activity such as Earn and Convert, closed contract or copy-trading results, and asset deposit or withdrawal history. Upload the generated files rather than the PDF account statement.
What the read-only API can add
The API integration can sync supported spot executions, post-upgrade realised derivative results, closed options, Convert, Earn, rewards, deposits, and withdrawals. It is useful for incremental updates after the historical CSV baseline.
On the first sync, closed-PnL history is bounded to roughly two years and options to six months. Copy Trading subaccount or follower history, P2P, Launchpool, Launchpad, and some pre-upgrade activity require separate records or manual review.
Records to reconcile after import
- Match spot quantities, fees, and stablecoin or crypto-to-crypto legs to the transaction log.
- Compare closed derivative net PnL and explicit fees with Bybit's closed-PnL records.
- Review Earn, airdrop, referral, and reward values at receipt, especially any item imported at zero pending a price.
- Link deposits and withdrawals to wallets you own and investigate unmatched Convert or multi-leg warnings.
- Keep overlapping API and CSV periods visible so cross-source deduplication can be checked.
How Irish Investor helps
Irish Investor recognises supported Bybit export families, groups spot disposals for FIFO review, preserves supported derivative net results as synthetic transaction pairs, and turns supported reward records into income events.
Import warnings are part of the result. Funding or copy fees, open positions, ambiguous liquidity activity, incomplete prices, and derivative tax classification can still require manual adjustment or professional review.
Before relying on the tax estimate
- Cover the full relevant period with exports no longer than one year each.
- Compare category totals with Bybit's own records and resolve every material warning.
- Add off-exchange wallets, missing earlier basis, and unsupported activity manually.
- Review the Crypto Tax Ireland guide for the disposal, income, valuation, and trading-status boundaries.
